General description of the collection: The Albert C. Dalton papers include: two scrapbooks containing orders and official correspondence to and from General Dalton during his service in the infantry and Quartermaster Corps(1889-1926), which includes his duty as Superintendent of the Army Transport Service and Quartermaster of the Port of Embarkation of New York (Nov. 1, 1917-Nov. 5, 1918). Some maps, photographs, and clippings relating to his military service, several items concerning his role in the U.S Shipping Board (1926-1929) and newspaper accounts of his views on the state of military preparedness in 1940 are included.
